Artist’s Statement
As I witnessed the intrusion of wind turbines into my home country, The Netherlands, I saw my heritage disappearing. I had to accept the inevitable and realized it was reflective of human kind, how we must learn to live side by side, the old and the new. Windmills are so symbolic of my country I chose to express this into a visual narrative, The Windmill and the Turbine, which is a series of twelve original one-of-a-kind hand-pulled prints.
