27 Jul The PiVot Preview: Elegant and Outrageous Fashions and Wild Wearable Art Presented at San Jose’s Historical Armory
The historical Armory building in downtown San Jose hosted a dozen cutting-edge fashion designers, 75 fashion models, a handful of exhibiting artists (and another handful of bartenders), three ballet dancers, and several hundred very enthusiastic art and fashion devotees on Saturday, June 18 for the PiVot: The Art of Fashion couture and wearable art show organized by Santa Cruz artist Rose Sellery and personal fashion stylist Tina Brown, produced by Mu Industries, and hosted by Anne and Mark’s Art Party. (This was Mu’s inaugural production; they certainly started with a bang.) This event was a preview and preparation for a much larger October 1 PiVot show to be held during Anne and Mark’s Art Party at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose (September 24 to October 1).
Masters of ceremonies Daniel Garcia and Sarah Garcia from Content Magazine, Silicon Valley’s bimonthly art and culture magazine, kicked off the event. Sarah Garcia opened the festivities with an amazing, a cappella rendering of Amazing Grace, much to the crowd’s delight, followed by three ballet dancers from the New Ballet School in downtown San Jose.

And then the models started strutting, and strutting, and strutting.
