Artist’s Statement

The photographs from the Locust Tree Road series were taken at the house in which my grandparents lived. My grandparents never changed much in the house; it pretty much looked the same my entire life. After they passed, the house sat relatively untouched for a long period of time. To me, the house became a mausoleum. All of their possessions were there, but they were absent. What emotional content remains in people’s possessions after they have passed? The decor of the 50s and 60s, and the objects people surrounded themselves with while they were alive, may allow you to connect to people who have passed in your life. What will become of your possessions after you are gone?
