Artist’s Statement

I am fascinated by the relationship between the built and living environments. My works exude architectural palimpsest referential to contemporary designs layered upon landscapes to create spatial dissonance between the organic and the geometric impositions of the manmade world.

My paintings emanate a colorful amalgamation of fragmented planar units and natural forms that intersect, overlap, and stretch beyond opposing elements at varying scales. I examine how organic and inorganic environments can shift into harmonious relationships. I am intrigued by the current paradigm shift in planning and design away from a purely materialist approach of an automobile dominated society towards a society still obsessed with materials, yet focused on humans and their interaction with the environment.
