Ren Geisick grew up in Los Gatos, California, and graduated with a degree in Jazz Vocal Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal-State Long Beach. In 2010, Ren was the recipient of and Ella Fitzgerald Scholarship and was awarded Outstanding Undergraduate Jazz Vocalist by Downbeat Magazine. Since 2012, she has been living and performing in the Bay Area and has become a fixture in the growing San Jose music and arts scene. San Jose Jazz featured her as an artist to watch in their “Eye on the Scene” blog series in 2014 and in April 2015, Ren had the rare opportunity to sing on Yoshi’s stage for the Living Jazz, Jazz Search West Finals, where she placed in the top four artists. Ren is going down to Los Angeles in September to record her debut album produced by Jesse Harris and featuring originals, jazz and country tunes for a unique sound that is all her own.
