Art is my reason for getting out of bed in the morning. My studio is my church, my temple, my synagogue, my mosque. Art restoreth my soul. Art is my religion.
I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, 79 years ago. I started painting in my late sixties and fell in love with the process. My first class was in watercolor at the Santa Clara Senior Center. I then joined the Santa Clara Art Association where I met many artists and watched demonstrations of a variety of media. I probably learned the most from a 10-week watercolor workshop with Mike Bailey. I have shown my work at the Shenson Gallery of the Triton Museum of Art and gained a few ribbons along the way. In the last couple of years I’ve studied cubism on my own. My favorite artists are George Braque, Juan Gris and Franz Marc. I hope to continue learning about art and painting until I die.
